Added a little blurb in under the “about” tag. Not much, but it shall due for now.

One of the issues in launching a new blog, or indeed in launching a blog period, is deciding what links to list. To some, this may seem a trivial matter, but I have always been of the opinion that the links we attach to ourselves, that we pass along to others, are very important and can say a multitude about us, whether we know it or not. And if that is something which you think is complete and total bullshit, how then do you explain the popularity of del.icio.us or Stumbleupon, or any of the other social networking services that allow you to share links? Why then is it that after you find something online that pisses you off or you think is cool or makes you laugh your ass off, you immediately want to share it with everyone in your address book? We love to share information. We get a kind of natural high from it. And we like being the first one to discover that something which pisses people off, or people think is cool, or makes people laugh their asses off.
It is natural, of course, to want to list every damn website you go to, if only because you feel they are important because you go to them on the regular. However, once you have been online as long as I have, that can be a really long list. It is better, I think, to include only a few links to the sites you visit most, the sites that fascinate you most, the sites that you feel best sum up who you are, or at least what you are really into. Thus my random assortment of links over to the right, which was basically cobbled together as each one popped into my head. Some links, like BBC News or MegaTokyo, were amongst the first I wanted to list; I love the BBC World News and MegaTokyo is my favorite webcomic, and I tend to sing their praises to just about anyone who is there to listen. I also included, of course, the obligatory social networking bits; Twitter, Digg and so on. Mostly, however, I have endeavored to create a balanced group of links of the various things that interest me. The list is not complete, and there are a few more sites I still need to include.
As for the rest of this blog, I am still very much in the “setting up and getting this thing running” stage. Hence, my complete lack of anything under the “about” section. It is coming, worry not. I am also still learning to navigate my way about WordPress, which I am very much loving so far. I really like Vox, which is where my (soon to be) old blog lived, and shall continue to live, and I shall always have a soft place in my heart for Vox; it did, after all, get me into blogging in the first place. However, as I stated on the blog earlier today, the limitations of Vox were becoming more and more apparent to me. Do not get me wrong, I still think that Vox is one hell of a blogging platform, and I think it definitely serves a purpose. I was just beginning to crave a bit more. And so, my blog has moved to this fine place. Now if I can only figure out a way to import all of my past entries from my Vox blog.
Still getting used to the WordPress look and feel. Give me some time.
Give me a bit o’ time to move….
